Animal scales are mostly platform scales which are used to weigh small animals like cats, turtles, rabbits, big fish, chickens and pigeons. Some of these scales are equipped with RS232 interface, which allows the communication between scale and computer. This can be useful for animal shelters, if storing the massive amount of weighing data is too much to do it manually. These animal scales are made of stainless steel, some of them are protected against dust and splashing water, which is indicated by the protection class IP 54.
The disenfection and cleaning of the weighing bowls or platform should be no problem, because they are concipated for weighing animals, and animals are not as clean as a human after taking a bath.
